I love your lessons, they helped me get way better at lead guitar, and I wanna learn more so I was wondering if you could do a lesson on comp chords? I would appreciate it!! Thanks and God Bless!!

Hi Aaron. You were right to tell me to keep looking around at your clips. Around the 6:30 mark here, you get into the kind of technique I’m talking about to help get beyond running scales and patterns alone. When, for example, the old blues legends (and I don’t play blues) do some of their silky little runs, I’m amazed less by the notes they pick than by how they got their fingers from A to Z so smoothly–throwing several bends in in the meantime–in a counter-intuitive order/flow that my “pattern-trained” fingers can only clench at in confusion. I’ll keep watching the rest of the lead vids. I watched everything in your Chords section and, while the theory was familiar to me, I picked up a lot of great voicings. One vid that would be ideal there might get into how to combine all those great jazzy 7th chords into progressions. It’s made me more interested in that sound but, having only ever written for rock, power-pop and alt-country, I don’t know what those structures/progressions should look like. Standard blues but with all 7ths? Thanks yet again for your generous sharing of experience!
