What's up guys. This is about me. No use in being professional writing this bio in 3rd person. It really wouldn't make a lot of sense, since I'm the creator of the site. I want this site to be as personal from me to you as possible. So about me...
At age 9, I started becoming interested in music by learning how to play drums. But I really began playing and learning music when I was 11 years old. I started playing trumpet in my middle school band. Always more interested in the music theory part of music, I got deep into what music is and how it's created. By doing this, I quickly learned how to play piano at age 12. Piano became my first music love. Because piano is such a music theory based instrument, I quickly noticed how closely related the piano and guitar were. So therefore, I started to learn guitar. Guitar became my new musicial love.
During college I began studying with a guitar professor at Valdosta State University and teaching professionally as a contracted guitar instructor at Music & Arts Centers in my town, Valdosta. This is where I found out how many boring guitar teachers there are. Most of my lessons consisted of having fun learning whatever the student wanted to know and learning about the lives of my students, whether young or old. That is the way learning music should be. You can only teach someone something they really want to learn. If you really want to get better at guitar, or any instrument, start teaching it. My music spectrum opened up so wide when i began teaching because so many students wanted to learn so many different styles. I pretty much had a rock and jazz background, but now I love it all- country, blues, metal, you name it. After 4 years of teaching at the music store, I moved on and started my own music academy called Artist Development Academy in Valdosta, GA.
Throughout college, I studied mostly business and science, along with studying with my music professor. The acoustic guitar is probably my favorite instrument. I came turned on to artists like Justin King and Andy Mckee and Dream Theater and learned how fun it was to just have fun with guitar and write whatever you want. Sometimes, in the music industry, it's important to sit back and just have fun playing your instrument along with staying on track with the poplar side that sells. Put these two parts of music together, and you have a great product and happiness.
During my years of college I played in a few different bands. I love playing guitar and writing new acoustic tapping pieces but I have always been a singer/songwriter as well. So I recorded and produced my first album, "New Years Twice", as the band Champagne Thursday. This album can be downloaded on iTunes. I currently play with a southern rock band called The River. We are undergoing many changes in our band. Going back and forth to Nashville, TN, we are working on our new releases with an amazing grammy award winning and multi-platinum producer. I also work with a great church, Azalea City Church of God, at the moment helping out their youth music program in teaching the fundamentals and importance of being a praise and worship band.
So what else. Most people don't know that I'm a total nerd. I love physics and theology with a bit of philosophy in there. I have a growing passion for understanding how the world and universe works. You'd be surprised how closely related the universe and music are related. Not metaphorically, but literally. Read on string theory sometime when you get a chance. I also absolutely love film and movies. I've always kind of wanted to be an actor, but I guess music is overwhelming my life. Computers have always been a big hobby with me as well. Obviously I like computers enough to build a site. I think technology is a fun hobby to mess around with. Along with computers comes website design, photoshop, music and recording, gaming, it's all fun. Computer games rule. I definitely believe in other life in the vast universe.
So that's a little about me. I really hope you enjoy my site, and please donate to keep the site growing. You can check me out on other places on the net. So make sure you check out the entire page and make your self at home.
