So if you don’t know yet… AaronsGuitarLessons.com is now doing periodical “Give-a-Ways” to random users and contributors of the website. Drawings will be held and everyone will have a chance to win gear, accessories, acoustic and electric guitars, and much more. With each “Give-a-Way”, users will have the opportunity to donate to the website for a chance to win. So if you like the free lessons, donate and receive opportunities to win stuff!
Last month, AaronsGuitarLessons.com did the first give-a-way campaign and it went great. So thanks for all of your support and congratulations to YongJin from Surrey, British Columbia Canada for winning the acoustic guitar. So I’m not wasting anytime. We are starting with the second give-a-way, and this time there will be three winners. The grand prize winner will receive a fender squire strat electric guitar with a Line 6 TonePort UX1 home studio package. The TonePort UX1 is awesome and the full description of what it does is below. Basically, it’s what I use to do all my electric guitar video lessons. I actually do most all of my video lessons with the TonePort because it also allows you to connect vocal microphones as well for voice audio recording. It’s a USB audio interface that allows you to hook up your guitar, microphones, or whatever you wish to your computer to process sounds and record audio. It’s a sweet piece of equipment to have. The 1st and 2nd runner ups will receive a 5 pack of D’addario acoustic strings and one dozen Dunlop Tortex picks. You can also choose your string and pick size if you win.
Start recording with TonePort™ UX1 – the USB interface that brings Line 6 guitar, bass, and vocal tone to the world of desktop recording and production. The TonePort UX1 hardware interface is USB-powered and comes with Line 6 GearBox™ modeling software, which provides a must-have collection of 16 guitar and 5 bass amp/cab models, 29 stompbox and studio effects (up to 10 at once), and 6 models of high-end studio microphone preamps. Featuring a high-quality microphone input with preamp, a guitar/bass instrument input, stereo line inputs and outputs, stereo headphone jack, and an analog merge monitoring input, TonePort UX1 makes it easy to plug-in and start recording on your PC or Mac®.
This give-a-way starts now- the date of this post. To enter for the drawing:
1) sign up for the Newsletter if you haven’t already.
2) click on “Donate” at the top and make a donation of any amount.
Once this is complete, your name, email, and address will be recorded for the drawing and you’ll receive a confirmation by email. Most give-a-way campaigns will last for 3-5 weeks. The drawing for every give-a-way will be held via live on uStream, which you can access by clicking on “Watch Aaron Live” at the top right or “Ustream” at the bottom of the website. With Ustream, you will actually get to see the drawing in real time to see if you win. Once the winner is selected, they will be contacted through email for the confirmation and the prize(s) will be shipped to their address.
The drawing date has been set for Tuesday April, 5th 2011 @ 10:00PM EST. Check out the countdown the top of the page to keep up! At the time of the drawing, just check the top of the website for the Ustream broadcast or just go to the Ustream channel found at the bottom of the website.

Would love to see a video (or series) clearly demonstrating (without fancy jargon and so forth) exactly how to record guitar videos that can be put on YouTube, etc. Things like what components would be needed and maybe a couple of options/recommendations of each; how it is connected, used, etc. Maybe I am missing it, but if not, it would make a great series that would help a lot of people with practicing and thing posting once they have mastered something. Thanks!
